The American Institute for Contemporary German Studies (AICGS) cordially invites you to attend and support the 24th annual Global Leadership Award Dinner. This esteemed award recognizes the achievements of business pioneers and government leaders who have profoundly shaped the partnership between Germany and the United States. This year’s event will honor Dr. Kurt Bock and commemorate the Institute’s 35th anniversary.
Kurt Bock can be proud of BASF’s accomplishments, not just for Germany or the United States, but for the global economy at large. The company’s purpose, “We create chemistry for a sustainable future,” recognizes chemistry’s role in solving the greatest global challenges of our time: a growing need for food, clean water and energy, limited resources, and a booming world population. During Dr. Bock’s tenure as Chairman, BASF actively participated in the development of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which create the framework for sustainable business practices at the economic, social, and environmental levels. BASF supports the United Nations in the implementation of these goals and, through its research and innovation, enables customers in every industry to meet the current and future needs of society.
